What if my partner and I can’t get along – can we still use Our Separation?

Anyone can use Our Separation, but in order for it to be effective both parties have to be open to settling their differences and working together. Do you have to be on the best of terms? No, absolutely not. But it is important that you both be open to working together to get a deal done. Otherwise, you might be off to court, which can get expensive very quickly.

Will this agreement hold up in court if my ex tries to challenge it in 5 years?

Our Separation has been built in a way to make your agreement rock solid. Remember, you will be led through all of the appropriate modules and asked to provide the pertinent information in order to ensure that your agreement will withstand a future challenge. Often when people don’t have a lawyer the agreement that the parties come up with can be challenged and “set aside” years down the line. Our Separation Agreements are drafted by your lawyer and will stand the test of time.

Can I be charged more money than the initial payment?

Our Separation works on a “Block Fee” model, which means that your agreement price will be a fixed cost. There may be additional disbursement fees for potential court filings or other small matters, but basically the price is the price. If you need additional help from your lawyer, there is the option to reach out and set up a call, for which the lawyers standard unbundled billing rates would apply.
